What the information here is
Editorial content: articles, comparisons and arithmetic about home printers and what they cost to run, published in good faith with its sources cited. It is general information for people choosing a printer.
What it is not
- Not a test report. We do not have these printers on a bench and we do not claim to. Nothing here is based on handling a unit. Our editorial policy states exactly what we do and do not do.
- Not a price quotation. We display no live prices. Any dollar figure is labeled with the source and the date we read it, and is arithmetic as at that date. The retailer’s own page is always the price of record.
- Not professional or purchasing advice for a specific business situation, and not a warranty that a printer will suit you.
- Not a guarantee of a manufacturer’s policy. Statements about ink lockouts, firmware behavior and supply policies are dated and cited to named reporting because they change. Check the current position before relying on one.
Accuracy, and its limits
We take real care with the numbers: every rated page yield and supply price is read from a named source and dated, and every cost-per-page figure is computed from those inputs rather than typed in by hand. Even so, prices move, models are discontinued, specifications are revised, and manufacturers change their policies. The site is provided as-is, without warranty that any particular figure is current.
